Roles: who should see what

Give each person the smallest role that lets them do their job. They see less, and you have less to worry about.

The six roles

  • Owner: everything, including the plan, money limits and who is an Administrator.
  • Administrator: everything across the business, except changing the Owner. Needs two-step sign-in.
  • Store manager: runs one store: bookings, customers, checkout, the store’s prices and settings, and discounts and refunds within the limits you set.
  • Receptionist: bookings, customers and checkout for their store.
  • Professional: their own calendar and their own clients, without contact details or money.
  • Viewer: reads the calendar and reports, without revenue.

Choosing well

  • The person at the front desk is a Receptionist, even if they have been with you for years.
  • Your stylists, therapists and artists are Professionals: they see their own day on their phone.
  • Make someone a Store manager when they decide things for a store, and set their discount and refund limits.
  • Keep Administrators few. Each one can change almost everything.
